Memories of mini bean bags

Over the weekend we were in our local greengrocer's on Lonsdale - Anna's Produce - and I noticed bags of mung beans on the shelf. I remembered that one of the few things my mother made for me as a child was a couple of mini bean bags. They were made of some pink flowery fabric, and filled with mung beans. I can even picture the wonky stitches around the sides. I wonder where they are now.

I bought a couple of bags of beans, some for crafting, and some to make sweet soup and then last night, I dug out some leftover fabric and made a set of three mini bean bags. I love making things for my baby!

It's been a very Chinese weekend. On Saturday I made taro soup, and had a big bowl of gailan with oyster sauce for dinner!
